This week in ISM I was productive in my mentorship with Nurse Courtney Curran and began formulating ideas for my original work website and research showcase. I sent in all paperwork to nurse Curran regarding my visits at the hospital and finalized plans for visits.

I finished my invitations for the research showcase and printed 35 copies. I have covered much ground in designing my poster board, invitations and two websites. All color schemes match and capitalize on professionalism. In preparation for the research showcase I gave a ten-minute speech in class covering all of the informational interviews I have conducted this year and the primary research I have conducted leading up to the interviews. I talked about my career outlook research, interest chemotherapy, chemotherapy misdosages, all leading up to my focus in immunotherapy.

I enjoyed practicing my speech in front of my peers because of the feedback I received. I received great ideas of introducing my primary research into the discussion of my interviews. My interviews sparked most of my research, so this would make the speech more conversational. I also learned when giving my speech that they must be informative but conversational.

This week, I am formulating questions and topics I want to go over with my mentors in our first visit that will be beneficial to creating the base of my original work.
